Have you ever thought about dunking a friend or a teacher in a water tank? What about shooting some hoops during school when really you should  be in class? Or just walking around school campus eating and talking it up with all your friends? Well, you can at this year’s Fall Festivus.

In previous years Fall Festivus has always been held in the front of Lincoln High School, but due to some construction,  it has been relocated to the west side of the school and track field. The rules for the day, however, haven’t changed.  Sponsors hope to keep students engaged and active in the events. Sponsor Richard Jackson said, “I hope the kids will become more involved in what Fall Festivus has to offer.” He continued, “We plan on having maps of the area where Festivus will be held to help kids find where all the stands are located.”  Jackson believes students do not need to worry about missing out on activites and is confident everyone will have an opportunity to experience Festivus.

Festivus has become a Lincoln High tradition that allows school groups and activities unite to provide a diverse experience for students and staff.  According to Jackson, “Fall Festivus, itsself, has been around for more then 10 years but I’ve only been sponsoring it for 6 years, I enjoy sponsoring Fall Festivus not only to see the end result but to see the kids enjoy something different than school work.”
