On December 9, a mysterious spiral was seen early in the morning in the sky above Norway. Initially, people panicked thinking it was aliens, a black hole, or an anti-matter weapon.  According to many sources though, this phenomenon was nothing super-natural, but was a Russian ICBM test. Apparently the test failed in the third stage, and the engine was causing the spiral, and the blue trail was caused from aluminum oxide, or in simpler terms, tiny sapphires.
But to me this seems like it could be a stretch. While I certainly wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a Russian missile test, I don’t think a missile gone wrong would produce such an amazing show as this. Even though I’m not a rocket scientist, I have done some of my own research, and no debris from a rocket was ever found. The most unnerving part of the ordeal to me is what happened when the spiral dissipated. It didn’t explode, or just stop, but slowly a black circle expanded from the center of it and overtook what remained of the spiral. Even though I’m not a rocket scientist that seems pretty strange to me.
The bottom line here is though, whether or not it really was a rocket is up for you to decide. Either way, whatever it was sure gave an interesting show to everyone who saw it, and provided quite a puzzle to everyone with any interest in weather, aliens, rockets, or other astronomical and atmospheric phenomena.
