On November 15, 2013 the LHS Student Council sponsored the annual Bands Against Bullying program in the Ted Sorensen Theatre. Student Council and  Anti-Bullying Committee member Junior Cassidy Taladay helped coordinate the event.“It is my personal goal to see it [bullying] reduced in any way possible, and I think that having an entire event centered around it [anti-bullying] is just one of those ways.”

Bands that performed included, The Wind Up, Erosion (via Academy of Rock), Barley Mob, Jeazlepeats, Down in Circles,These Friends of Mine, Boots & Cats (UNL female a capella),and Down in Circles. More than 100 people came to the event, and they also got the chance to watch LHS class of 2013 alum and champion slam poet Reagan Myers perform her poem on stage.  The event was free to all who were able to come support anti-bullying awareness where student council was selling anti-bullying lanyards. All profits went to the Bullying Committee . This is an annual event started up by last years Student Council president Emily Gasper and as Cassidy said, “ hoping next year’s event can grow even more!” LHS English teacher  and Student Council Sponsor Nicole Barnes had the same message.“I am hoping that in the future we will have even more students wanting to attend our events and give back to our community.”
