My name is Samantha. I’m 16 years old, and this is my second semester on the advocate, and I am the Managing Editor this year.
I’ve been writing my whole life, and it’s something that I’m very passionate about. Poetry has been a big thing for me since about 6th grade, and I have two published poems in the Lincoln Underground. As of now, I’m being lame and deciding to write a book.
I’m in 11th grade as of now, and after high school I plan on going to college to become an English teacher for high school students. I’m very passionate about all things that would relate to literature, and I also love working with kids, so being an English teacher seems like the glass slipper for me.
Outside of school, I have a few hobbies.
I’m a vocalist. I’ve been in many bands, my most recent one being First World Problems. I’ve been writing my own songs since I can remember. Some of my favorite bands include Tool, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Alestorm, Rancid, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Cake, Beck, The Dresden Dolls, etc. I’m taking voice lessons right now, and getting my voice to become more theatrically trained.
I like to spend time with my little brother. He’s two years younger than me, and probably one of my favorite people in the world. He just started high school. It’s sad, he’s not a baby anymore.
I also like to hang out with my friends. The few friends I do have and I like to go to the park, listen to music, and pretty much just mess around.
My cats are my world. Leo, my oldest baby, is literally like 20 pounds and a pure black cat. Topaz is a little younger (she got her name for the orange stripe she bears on her forehead), and is tiny with the cutest meow in the world. I’m 16, and already a crazy cat lady.
That’s what’s good about me, I can be super goofy but I also can be really mature.
My favorite foods include sushi, tacos, and hot wings.
That’s really all there is to know about me.
