Aren’t you tired of having to drive to Omaha or paying shipping costs every time you want to get something from the popular retail store, Nike? Well in August of 2016, University of Nebraska- Lincoln’s very own All- American and Alum, Ndamukong Suh will be opening a Nike store on the University of Nebraska- Lincoln campus! A $1.25 Million agreement was approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, to buy 17,000 to 19,000 sq ft located at the corner of 13th and Q St. Suh’s company will have to pay a $100,000 deposit for development of the space and a $1,000 monthly fee for over 20 years. The new store will occupy the space where the Nebraska bookstore once stood.
“I can’t wait for the Nike store to come here. It’s a real pain having to drive so far just for something as simple as a pair of shoes.” Freashman Angelica Grady said.
Although it is unclear the exact date the store will be opening, construction is set to begin sometime in January and the Lincoln community is excitedly awaiting the stores arrival.
